With all the madness in the robotics prototyping area, it’s comforting to return at simple robots. Why not take that a step further and use a simple self-balancing Arduino robot?
SainSmart is a small company that works to make other people happy with a series of open hardware kits engineered for all skill levels.
The InstaBots (Sale: $92.00 + $6.49 shipping) is one of the SainSmart robots and is a smart two wheels self-balancing robot controlled with Arduino microcontroller. The self-balancing robot has many abilities, but one of these stands out: the fully customizable body. Its body is adaptable enough to host sensors, cameras and many other parts and accessories.
Built around the Arduino board ensures a large support and a lot of documentation, as well as a good price if something breaks or for improvements.
The robot is not able for autonomous work after coming out of the box, but with little improvements it can be intelligent enough to work without user control. The manual control works with a joystick that provides full control over the movements.
The robot has three attributes: the one is to keep the robot in balance, the second one is to move forward and backward, and the third one is to run.
