Combine a Raspberry Pi, a PiBorg motor controller, and a PS3 controller, and you’ve got a remote controlled robot tank that runs on DC batteries and produce about three horsepower.
The DoodleBorg tank is a six-wheeled robot engineered to show the capability of Raspberry Pi combined with the PiBorg motor controller. The result is an agile robot that can turn in place, carry tens of kilograms, and with enough space for additional accessories like a video camera, sensors, and more.
The weight and dimensions of the robot are amazing, but the most impressive feature is the power generated by the six high torque motors. With approximately 2.1 KW (around 3hp), the six wheels can make the whole weight of the robot(65 Kg) to dance on the pavement.
The construction requires some basic wiring and programming skills. The complete instructions to build your own robot tank are here.
