The Summit-X is supposed to be a mobile robot designed to allow considerable heights for a small platform. The platform has attached four omnidirectional wheels and a scissor mechanism that moves up and down the upper part of the platform.
The robot is designed by Robotnik, a company specialized in robot product development and robotic R&D projects. Summit-X is a customizable platform that comes in two configurations. It is mainly engineered for indoor applications, but it also can work outdoor.
The omnidirectional wheels allow the robot to reach a speed of 3m/s. All the wheels are independent and integrate a brushless motor with gearbox.
The robot can navigate autonomously with the help of a range of sensors and cameras. In the teleoperated mode, the robot uses a PTZ camera to send video images in real-time.
