Roberta is a new industrial robot designed in mind with flexibility, adaptability, it has a very light structure and according to the manufacturer is inexpensive (the price is not revealed). Its modular design is pointing in 6-axis and it’s flexible enough to be configurable according to customer requirements.
On the industrial side, programming robots could become a nightmare for engineers. To simplify programming operation, the Roberta comes with an innovative intuitive control system, which is a combination between RoboCommander and the RingCommander. The programming phase starts with RoboCommander by moving the robot at any point in the workspace to reach the desired orientation of the gripper, and then the user use the ring located in the arm to record the action of the robot. All of these operations are recorded and played back by the robot.
The gripper includes force sensing and control for grasping and move safety the objects. The same robot gripper host a stereo vision system with four integrated light sources, dynamic control of illumination intensity, infrared sense, exchangeable camera lenses, and on the software side a vision system for image processing and object recognition.
All the electronics and motors are optimized for energy-efficiency and high precision in motor position and speed measurement.
