The Kathy Yang engineer has posted this easy guide over at elecfreaks that I think is one of the most complete projects to obtain in real-time information via GPS and Arduino. This integration between Arduino and GPS system allows for more high-tech features such as TFT display and GPS map navigation system.
The center of the project is the GPS Bee module that interfaced with an Arduino board sends its real-time position information. The UNO microcontroller takes the numbers and makes the calculations. The results are joined up with the map file stored on an SD card and displayed on TFT display.
Below is the list of components to build the Arduino GPS map navigation system:
- Arduino UNO $24.95
- TFT1.8 shield $13.98
- Dupont Line $5.45
- SD module $6.90
- GPS bee $49.95
- 2 x Digital push button $15.89
- SD card
