Are you a small manufacturer or a hobbyist able to get involved in electronic prototyping at home? In this situation and for many more others exists at least one good open-source kit that can be transformed into multifunctional machinery to get involved in DIY robotics and 3D printing projects faster and with a limited budget. The ZeGo open-source delta robot is designed for fast prototyping and having in mind a multifunctional tool able to work with multiple attachments.
Today we can hardly imagine a world without robotic kits that allow us hacking and prototyping our ideas. What could be better than a multifunctional kit that can be used for a wide range of applications? The ZeGo Robotics company prepares for us a brand new delta robot with multiple attachments that can replace expensive machinery with an affordable robot, or an affordable robotic kit for hobbyists that needs a versatile robotic platform.
Why a delta robot? These spider robots are built with three or four arms and are able to provide high-speed and accuracy in manipulation. These two features are very important for applications such as pick & place or packaging in different industries like food and pharmaceutical. With a series of advantages over disadvantages, the higher disadvantage of the delta robots is characterized by a low payload compared with other manipulators.
The ZeGo delta kit is not the first and I’m sure that will not be the latest robotic delta kit that combines the 3D printing technology with the ambition to create an industrial type kit for prototyping at home.
The delta robot army kit is another project aiming to put another way in prototyping at home or in a lab where young engineers are prepared to enter in the robotics field.
The ZeGo project makes a name for them as a versatile platform that can function as a 3D printer extruder with fused filament fabrication or PLA plastic, a pick & place robot with a wide range of tools, a plotter able to draw on paper or LCD screens, a tester machinery for mobile devices, or a designer able to burn designs into various materials.
The ZeGo classic assembly kit comes as a complete system including the hardware, electronics, tools and software, along with 5 different attachments to start operates right out of the box.
